Specifications
Bring performance-optimized, high-capacity storage to your IBM Netfinity with IBM"s slim-line hot-swappable 4.51GB Wide Ultra SCSI hard drive. Its 7200RPM spindle speed, 40MB per second data transfer rate, and 7.5 millisecond seek time deliver superior drive performance. In addition, its hot-swapping support allows you to insert or remove the drive without needing powering off your server.
This drive features leading technologies, such as IBM"s No-ID formatting, which provides greater storage efficiency and performance, and Magneto Resistive (MR) heads. MR heads allow data to be stored at a very high areal density, providing higher capacity and enhanced reliability. It squeezes more data on each disk, reducing the number of disks and heads required for a given capacity. With fewer heads and disks per GB, the drive uses less power and generates less heat and sound. This drive is also SMART (Self Monitoring, Analysis, and Reporting Technology) compliant to provide advanced warning of impending drive failure.
